Christa, a devoted single mother, was found dead in her home on Oct. 11 of 2015. She had been severely beaten. She was three months pregnant.
Isaiah Rider plead guilty to manslaughter. He was sentenced to 15 years. He was originally charged with second degree murder but was allowed to plea down to the lesser sentence that would not carry “life” term in spite of his history of violence.
Christa’s father, who could hardly identify his own daughter because she was so brutally beaten, died two weeks before sentencing.
Rider received three years credit for the time he had already served – two times the actual time. He will likely be in prison for a total of less than ten years when all is said and done. His sentence also includes convictions for assault, a carjacking and a home invasion that happened during the manhunt for him.
