Charmaine Thompson was 23 years old and pregnant when she was stabbed to death by her boyfriend in Ottawa Ontario.
The pre-born child died in the attack. The killer, Robert Escallieres, was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to three years in prison.
The child was not a factor in sentencing.
