A Strange Notification
In the summer of 2021 I received a notifications from Facebook that a comment I had made on Justin Trudeau’s post was being removed. The comment was made at a minimal of 3 years previously, but an exact date or the originating post was not provided. I took a screen shot and forgot about it.
Earlier this year I was sharing information on the Molly Matters Facebook page pertaining to petitions and Cathay Wagantall’s Bill C-311. The page has 3000 plus followers. After a handful of posts with very few people reached, I looked to see if I had changed a setting or something.
That’s when I discovered that my account had been restricted on July 16, 2022 – almost a year before. I wasn’t active on Facebook at the time.
Of course, I thought this was in error. I pressed the ‘Request Review’ button. Their response was that my account was permanently restricted and there was no further action I could take.
Outside of that comment on Trudeau’s post there was nowhere that I received notice that I had done something wrong.
Facebook Censors Me and Promotes Far Left
Leadnow is a progressive left wing activist group. Their email campaign to counter the petition I put forth to the government had just been brought to my attention. They are saying bill C-311 is a referendum on abortion in order to raise money and steer support to the Trudeau/Singh coalition government.
Today I discovered that they were also promoting that message with a Facebook ad.
I am restricted from buying Facebook ads for no clear reason.
My daughter was killed when her mother was attacked at seven and a half months into the pregnancy.
My petition asks the government to punish murderers of pregnant women more severely, which is what C-311 seeks to do. But I can’t promote my side of the story on Facebook.
Leadnow is a garbage woke bully group spreading misinformation to benefit the Liberal/NDP coalition. But that’s how free speech works sometimes and I’d defend their right to it.
What I will not defend is Facebook’s rigging of dialogue in the public square. Covertly fixing debate to affect an outcome disconnected from merit. Having their boot on the neck of advocates for victims of crime, or any other minority group respectfully challenging the status quo, is dangerous and wrong.
Secretly amplifying one side while silencing the other is a cancer on democracy, and any social media platform that so egregiously sabotages discord should be held accountable.
I put this information here for the public record with the hope that one day there can be a civil rights for the digital space.
Addendum: The shift to Twitter…
The Facebook page will remain up, but I am going to try to familiarize myself more with Twitter for the purposes of sharing information. Pleases follow me there, thanks.
